WEB GEMS- Bot 1st: Randy Arozarena robbed Justin Turner of an extra base hit.
Shohei Ohtani dominated striking out 12 Santa Rosa batters and Ohtani ripped 2
homeruns and had 4 RBI at Zink County Stadium as the San Jose KZ Kitchen
Zinks belted the ice-cold Santa Rosa Palms by the count of 13 to 3.
Ohtani enjoyed a great day at the plate. Every time he came up in the latter
innings, the crowd was on their feet cheering. He tripled resulting in a run
in the 1st inning, cracked a two-run shot in the 2nd inning and smashed a
bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 4th inning. San Jose KZ ended up with 16 hits
for the game while Santa Rosa had 6.
Ohtani(2-0) got the win allowing 2 runs in 8 innings. Zack Greinke(0-2) was
given the loss. He allowed 7 hits and 1 walk in 1 and 1/3 innings.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Ohtani - except Santa Rosa. Jason
Welco lamented, 'He just was 'on' this afternoon. He was keeping our guys
off balance all game. A fine game by a good strikeout pitcher - makes it a
fun game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were the visitors!'
