Aaron Nola reeled off a total of 11 strikeouts at the Invaderdome where the
San Jose I Invaders beat the San Jose KZ Kitchen Zinks by the score of 1 to
0.
Nola(2-1) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the San
Jose KZ batters. He didn't give up much, just 4 hits and no walks in 7 and
1/3 innings dropping his ERA from 3.27 to 1.96. Nola was helped out by James
Karinchak who pitched a perfect ninth and recorded his 3rd save.
Yohan Ramirez(0-1) was hit with the loss in relief. He gave up no hits and 3
walks in 1 and 1/3 innings. When asked about his strikeout total for the
game, Nola offered, 'The fan's really got into it. It is fun to see them
tally up the strikeout totals up there in the stands. Fortunately, I kept
them busy this afternoon - of course, it would be all for naught without the
'W'.'

In a two run game the Santa Rosa Palms got by the Palo Alto Pinkos by the
score of 4 to 2.
Santa Rosa brought 3 runs across the plate in the top of the 2nd inning when
they had 3 base hits. The early run support proved sufficient for Drew
Rasmussen(2-0) and Santa Rosa. That was all the run support Rasmussen
required. The Palo Alto offense proved no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.
Tanner Banks was credited with his 2nd save. German Marquez(1-2) was tagged
with the loss. He surrendered 3 hits and 1 walk in 1 and 1/3 innings.
'He gutted it out' Jason Welco said of Rasmussen. 'I was very impressed by
his tenacity.'
