The Santa Rosa Palms got by the Inglewood Ignats at the Moon Dome. The final
score was 6 to 4.
Santa Rosa had 3 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 5th inning when
they had 5 base hits. Eric Hosmer kicked off the action when he blasted a
solo shot. Nick Castellanos came to the plate and doubled. Kevin Newman
then laced a base-hit bringing in another run. Alek Thomas followed next and
he laced a one-base hit. Jake McCarthy was the next batter, but he struck
out. Jesse Winker continued the rally and singled scoring the final run of
the inning. Both teams ended up with 10 hits on the afternoon.
The win went to Zack Greinke(1-0) who allowed 3 runs in 7 innings. Greinke got
help from Tanner Banks who earned his 1st save. Robbie Ray(0-2) was the
losing pitcher. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 6 runs in 4 and
2/3 innings.
'He gutted it out' Jason Welco said of Greinke. 'I was very impressed by his
tenacity.'

pitcher's duel. J.T. Brubaker(2-0) finally bested his Fullerton counterpart,
Ian Anderson(0-1), by the score of 1 to 0.
Brubaker gave a fine effort for San Jose KZ. He went 5 and 2/3 innings
allowing 3 hits and no walks. Brubaker struckout 7 Fullerton batters.
Fullerton tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
Brubaker got help from Jonathan Hernandez who was credited with his 1st save.
The loss was charged to Anderson. He surrendered 5 hits and 3 walks in 5 and
1/3 innings.
