when they had 7 base hits. The critical plate appearance was by Carlos
Correa who made the crowd come alive when he delivered a base-hit scoring two
baserunners. Santa Rosa threatened in the 9th but San Jose KZ was able to
put down the rally.
Seth Martinez(1-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 4 innings.
Aroldis Chapman earned the save, his 1st. Zack Greinke(1-1) ended up with
the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 9 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.

Matt Vierling had 2 base hits and Justin Verlander racked up an impressive
total of 11 strikeouts at Fatboy Stadium as the Fullerton Fatboys beat the
Inglewood Ignats by the count of 2 to 0.
Verlander(3-0) was on top of his game. He surrendered only 5 hits and no
walks in 8 innings lowering his ERA to 2.42. Robert Suarez pitched a perfect
ninth and was credited with his 2nd save.
Madison Bumgarner(0-2) was the loser. He pitched 7 innings allowing 8 hits
and 1 walk. Jeff Bergman was upset after the game. 'I don't like to complain
but did you see that umpires strike zone?', he said. 'Maybe they ought to
start calling the strike zone the way it's printed in the rule book.'
