The Selma Stompers came roaring back in the top of the ninth to spoil the
anticipated celebration of the hometown fans. The final score,, was 5 to
4.
Selma scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning plating 3 runs on 3 hits.
After an out was recorded, C.J. Abrams began the Selma spurt when he slapped
a single. Tyler O'Neill came to the plate and reached on an error. Jean
Segura then laced a one-base hit resulting in a run. Segura took his lead
and swiped second. Jose Miranda stepped into the box and singled adding
another two runs to their total. Selma banged out 8 hits on the afternoon.
The victory went to Brayan Bello(1-0) who went 2 and 1/3 innings, allowing no
runs. A.J. Minter recorded the save, his 1st. James Karinchak(0-1) was
charged with the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up 2
hits and 1 walk.
'I pin this one on my own shoulders,' Karinchak said. 'The bottom line is I
didn't get the job done. Our fans deserve better than this.'

Jonah Heim cracked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Fullerton Fatboys bested
the Santa Rosa Palms 8 to 6 at Fatboy Stadium.
It was a good day for Fullerton thanks to Heim. He lost the ball over the
fence for three runs in the 2nd inning and bombed a two-run dinger in the 4th
inning. Santa Rosa made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push
the needed runs across.
Jose Urquidy(1-0) went 7 innings allowing 5 runs for the win. Urquidy got help
from Matt Brash who was credited with his 1st save. The loss was charged to
Josiah Gray(0-1).
'It's a disheartening loss, no question about it' said Jason Welco 'But we
have to get over it and get ready for the next game.'
