Third baseman Starlin Castro cracked a homer and had 5 RBI and Tyler Anderson
whiffed 11 batters as the Selma Stompers defeated the struggling Palo Alto
Pinkos by the score of 12 to 8 at Pinko Field.

Castro had a big day with his bat. He banged out a single resulting in a run
in the 2nd inning, stroked a one-base hit which scored a run in the 7th
inning and clubbed a three-run home run in the 9th inning. Selma kept the
pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.

The victory was credited to Anderson(2-1) who went 8 and 2/3 innings, allowing
8 runs. Julio Urias(0-3) was charged with the loss. He got hit pretty hard,
allowing 13 hits and 4 walks in 6 innings.

Anderson was asked about his big strikeout performance, 'Well, it's a little
odd when you rack up these numbers on the road - instead of cheers and a
running tally in the stands, everything gets real still and quiet. Just
strange - but it's nice to be able to take the crowd out of the game.'

Aaron Nola reeled off a total of 12 strikeouts at the Invaderdome as the San
Jose I Invaders beat the Stockton Delta Kings 9 to 2.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Corey Seager. He doubled plating a run in the 5th inning, lined
a base-hit in the 7th inning and rifled a three-run blast in the 8th inning.
The San Jose I offense was great, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.

Nola(2-2) went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Archie
Bradley(1-4) ended up with the loss. He got hammered, allowing 9 hits and 5
walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.

The San Jose I fans were thrilled by the performance put forth by Nola, but it
was clearly his strikeouts that they enjoyed most. 'When he reached 10
strikeouts the fans showed him their appreciation with a loud cheer.' Tom
O'Connor said following the game.

Dexter Fowler smacked 2 homeruns and scored 3 times as the Santa Rosa Palms
defeated the Inglewood Ignats 4 to 3 at Banner Ig Ballpark.

Fowler was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He delivered a solo blast in the 3rd
inning and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 5th inning. Inglewood had
a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

Kevin Siegrist(3-2) allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Raisel Iglesias recorded the save, his 2nd. Luis Cessa(2-1) took
the loss. He pitched 7 innings giving up 7 hits and 2 walks.
