Drew Pomeranz tossed a fine 2 hitter at the Invaderdome where the San Jose I
Invaders beat the Stockton Delta Kings 9 to 1.
Pomeranz(1-0) was simply too much for the Stockton batters. He allowed only 2
hits and 2 walks in 9 innings. Pomeranz struckout 10 Stockton batters
dropping his ERA from 4.26 to 2.35. San Jose I rapped out 11 hits for the
afternoon.
Jordan Zimmermann(0-2) took the loss. He was knocked around by San Jose I,
allowing 10 hits and 4 walks in 6 innings. Pomeranz was pleased with his
performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches. Just as important, my
location was right on. The fans really got into the game too - that always
helps me. Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.'

Ben Lively had an impressive outing and Scott Schebler homered and had 5 RBI
at Pinko Field as the Selma Stompers embarrassed the Palo Alto Pinkos by the
lopsided score of 20 to 1.
Schebler had a good day at the plate. He doubled which plated a run in the
3rd inning and clubbed a two-run home run in the 6th inning. Selma bats were
hot in the 3rd inning when they had 5 runs on 6 hits, the 8th inning which
saw them score 4 runs on 3 hits and the 9th inning with 4 runs. The Selma
offense was great, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.
Lively(1-0) finished the game allowing 1 run in the victory. Jose Berrios(1-1)
suffered the loss. He allowed Selma 7 runs in 2 innings of work.
Richard F. Koch was obviously impressed with the pitching of Lively. 'That guy
made us look a little silly out there this afternoon. We just couldn't get
to him at all - everything was working for him. I just hope that he got that
kinda performance out of his system.'

Inglewood took the lead off Dinelson Lamet in the first inning as they scored
3 runs on 3 base hits. The early run support proved sufficient for Mark
Leiter(2-0) and Inglewood. That was all the run support Leiter required.
Neither team managed to score after the 3rd inning.
Leiter got help from Dellin Betances who earned his 2nd save. Lamet(1-1) was
the losing pitcher. He gave up 6 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.

but he was set down on strikes. Yangervis Solarte kept the rally going and
smacked a single which scored a run. Solarte took second on the throw.
Curtis Granderson came to the plate and doubled as another two runners
scored. Fullerton threatened in the 9th but San Jose KZ was able to put down
the rally.
