Max Scherzer struck out 12 batters at the Invaderdome where the San Jose KZ
Kitchen Zinks beat the San Jose I Invaders by the score of 2 to 0.
Scherzer(2-1) simply dominated San Jose I. He surrendered only 1 hit and 1
walk in 8 innings improving his ERA from 2.00 to 1.38. San Jose KZ had only
6 hits for the afternoon.
Scherzer got help from Scott Alexander who was credited with his 1st save.
The loss was charged to Gerrit Cole(1-2). Despite the loss, he struckout 12
San Jose KZ batters in 8 and 1/3 innings.
Scherzer was humble when questioned about his performance, 'Well, I felt
pretty confident in my pitches this afternoon. But, I had great support
behind me and I just threw what was called. That was an extremely well
called game!'

winner at Pinko Field as the Santa Rosa Palms beat the Palo Alto Pinkos in 19
innings by the count of 17 to 13.
Both teams had scored 9 runs after nine full innings. Santa Rosa won the hard
fought contest in the 19th inning. The critical plate appearance was by
Santana who silenced the stadium when he smacked a three-run homer. Santa
Rosa bats were hot in the 19th inning with 4 runs on 3 hits. This was the
kind of game that many fans love as the lead changed hands 5 times.

Danny Salazar racked up an impressive total of 10 strikeouts as the Selma
Stompers defeated the Inglewood Ignats by a score of 5 to 1 at Banner Ig
Ballpark.
Salazar(1-0) looked very much in control throughout the day. He was stingy on
the mound, allowing just 4 hits and 6 walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA to
1.29. Selma banged out 12 hits on the afternoon.
Trevor Williams(1-2) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings
giving up 9 hits and 1 walk. Salazar was pleased with his performance. He
noted, 'I had good command of all my pitches. Just as important, my location
was right on.'

Fullerton Fatboys broke the deadlock in their last at bats, pulling out a 7
to 6 win over the Stockton Delta Kings and sending their hometown fans home
smiling.
The game was won by Fullerton with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning.
After two outs Nomar Mazara was hit by a pitch. Hunter Renfroe followed next
and he drew a walk. Jason Heyward then lashed a single to load the bases.
Bradley Zimmer stepped in and he drew a walk giving Fullerton the win much to
the delight of the home town crowd. Fullerton had 14 hits for the game and
Stockton had 11.
Danny Barnes(2-0) allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. Jose Torres(0-2) was given the loss in relief. He allowed 1 hit and
2 walks in 1 and 1/3 innings.
