Chris Sale dominated striking out 11 San Jose I batters and right fielder Adam
Eaton had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Stockton Delta Kings bested the San Jose I
Invaders 11 to 3 at the Invaderdome.
Sale(1-0) was virtually untouchable. He surrendered only 4 hits and 1 walk in
8 innings lowering his ERA from 4.70 to 2.87. The Stockton offense
man-handled the San Jose I pitching staff as they scored in 7 of the 9
innings.
Drew Pomeranz(0-3) took the loss. He was unable to control the Stockton
offense and allowed 9 hits and 4 walks in 5 innings.
Sale was humble when questioned about his performance, 'Well, I felt pretty
confident in my pitches this afternoon. But, I had great support behind me
and I just threw what was called. That was an extremely well called game!'
