The Selma Stompers nipped the San Jose Invaders 2 to 1 at the Selma Coliseum
in a hard fought contest.
Selma came up with 1 run in the bottom of the 7th inning. After an out was
recorded, C.J. Abrams lofted a solo-blast 'downtown'. San Jose I threatened
in the 9th but Selma was able to put down the rally.
The winning pitcher was Tony Santillan(3-0) who allowed no runs in 2 and 2/3
innings. Ben Joyce earned his 6th save. Dylan Cease(1-2) was the losing
pitcher. He pitched 8 innings allowing only 5 hits and 1 walk.
Tom O'Connor was in a sour mood after the game. 'Even you guys up in the
press box know why we lost this game. We made too many mistakes.'
