Freddy Fermin lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and scored 3 times and Chris
Sale reeled off a total of 10 strikeouts as the Selma Stompers outscored the
Fullerton Fatboys 9 to 3.
Sale(2-0) pitched a solid game. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 6
hits and 1 walk in 8 innings. Selma had many opportunities throughout the
game and scored in 6 separate innings.
Shota Imanaga(0-1) was hit with the loss. He got hammered, allowing 9 hits
and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings. Sale was asked about his big strikeout
performance. 'Well, it's a little odd when you rack up these numbers on the
road - instead of cheers and a running tally in the stands, everything gets
real still and quiet. Just strange - but it's nice to be able to take the
crowd out of the game.'
