Mitch Keller mowed down 12 San Jose KZ batters at Billy Hebert Field as the
Stockton Delta Kings beat the San Jose KZ Kitchen Zinks 8 to 5.
 
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Byron Buxton.  He launched a three-run homer in the 1st inning
and tripled which plated a run in the 3rd inning.  Stockton banged out 9 hits
on the afternoon.  
 
Keller(1-1) allowed 3 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the victory.
Keller got help from Luis Patino who earned his 1st save.  Logan Gilbert(0-2)
was given the loss.  He allowed 3 homeruns in 7 innings of work.  
 
Trevor Zink was upset after the game.  'I don't like to complain but did you
see that umpires strike zone?', he said.  'Maybe they ought to start calling
the strike zone the way it's printed in the rule book.'

Jake Cronenworth launched 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Luis Garcia whiffed 10
batters as the Selma Stompers defeated the Santa Rosa Palms 12 to 3 at Selma
Coliseum.
 
Cronenworth had a big day at the plate.  He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in
the 2nd inning and lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the
6th inning.  Selma finished with 15 hits while Santa Rosa ended up with 6.
 
The winning pitcher was Keegan Thompson(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 3 and 1/3
innings. Zack Greinke(1-1) took the loss.  He pitched 5 innings giving up 6
hits and no walks.

Daulton Varsho had 2 base hits and Corbin Burnes went the distance at the
Invaderdome as the San Jose I Invaders beat the Fullerton Fatboys by the
count of 3 to 2.
 
Burnes(2-0) earned his pay with a solid performance for San Jose I.  He
surrendered 7 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings and was touched for 2 homeruns.
Fullerton threatened in the 9th but San Jose I was able to put down the
rally.  
 
James Kaprielian(0-2) ended up with the loss.  He pitched 7 innings allowing 6

Marcus Stroman pitched 8 strong innings at Pinko Field where the Palo Alto
Pinkos beat the Inglewood Ignats 6 to 1.
 
In the bottom of the 5th inning Palo Alto scored 4 runs when they had 4 base
hits.  The key at-bat was by Pete Alonso who made the crowd come alive when
he lofted a three-run bomb.  For the game Palo Alto out-hit Inglewood 9 to 4.
 
The win was credited to Stroman(2-0) who went 8 innings allowing 1 run. The
losing pitcher was Adrian Houser(0-1).  He pitched 4 and 2/3 innings and
surrendered 7 hits and 1 walk.
