Zack Greinke came through with a solid 8 innings as the Santa Rosa Palms
defeated the Stockton Delta Kings by a score of 6 to 3 at Billy Hebert
Field.
 
Greinke(1-0) was virtually untouchable.  He allowed only 4 hits and no walks
in 8 innings.  Santa Rosa had 10 hits for the afternoon.  
 
Mitch Keller(0-1) was given the loss.  He was knocked around by Santa Rosa,
allowing 7 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.

Luis Garcia dominated striking out 10 San Jose KZ batters at Selma Coliseum as
the Selma Stompers beat the San Jose KZ Kitchen Zinks 7 to 0.
 
Garcia(1-0) was in control of the game from the outset.  He was stingy on the
mound, allowing just 4 hits and no walks in 7 innings.  Overall Selma out-hit
San Jose KZ 13 to 4.  
 
Logan Gilbert(0-1) took the loss.  He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 9 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.  Garcia was pleased with
his performance.  He noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches.  Just as
important, my location was right on.  The fans really got into the game too -
that always helps me.  Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.'

Corbin Burnes racked up an impressive total of 11 strikeouts as the San Jose I
Invaders topped the Inglewood Ignats by a score of 3 to 2 at the
Invaderdome.
 
Burnes(1-0) gave San Jose I a solid outing.  He didn't allow much, just 6 hits
and no walks in 9 innings.  Inglewood had a chance in the 9th but they came
up short.  
 
Jorge Alcala(0-1) was the loser in relief.  He pitched 2/3 of an inning giving
up 1 hit and 1 walk. Tom O'Connor was asked about the performance of Burnes,
'He had his good stuff out there this afternoon.  The fans really get into it
when the strikeouts start mounting up - and that seems to give him even more
adrenalin.'

Marcus Stroman took a no-hitter into the 7th inning as the Palo Alto Pinkos
bested the Fullerton Fatboys 3 to 2 at Pinko Field.
 
Stroman(1-0) gave a fine effort for Palo Alto.  He surrendered 2 hits and 2
walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.  The right-handed Stroman lost a no-hitter when
Hunter Renfroe singled with nobody out in the 7th inning.  Palo Alto ended up
with 9 hits for the game while Fullerton had 3.  
 
Stroman got help from Jesus Luzardo who was credited with his 1st save.  James
Kaprielian(0-1) was charged with the loss.  He surrendered 3 runs and 8 hits
in 7 innings.
