TEAM RISP- Delta Kings: 2 for 14 Stompers: 4 for 9
With the crowd on their collective feet, screaming at the top of their lungs,
Selma Stompers rallied to top Stockton Delta Kings by the score of 9 to
7.
Selma scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning when they came up with 5
runs on 5 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Jake Cronenworth who
thrilled the crowd when he belted a three-run homer. Selma totaled 10 hits
on the afternoon.
Tony Santillan(1-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. Alex
Reyes(0-1) suffered the loss in relief. Santillan and Lorenzo Cain were
really whooping it up in the clubhouse after the great come from behind
victory. As Jerry Unger noted, 'A win like this one can do wonders for a
team's attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the fans, the players - even
you guys - it's better than winning by a dozen runs!'
