James McCann rocketed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI at the Moon Dome as the
Fullerton Fatboys beat the Santa Rosa Palms 11 to 6.
McCann was unconscious all day. The Santa Rosa fans hated to see him
approaching the batter's box as he just kept delivering base hits! He hit a
bases-empty home run in the 3rd inning, rifled a three-run blast in the 5th
inning and delivered a single bringing in a run in the 8th inning. Fullerton
had 14 hits for the afternoon while Santa Rosa had 11.
Mike Clevinger(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 5 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 5 runs. John Means(0-1) was the loser. He served up 4 gopher balls
in 4 innings.
'I just got in the box, looked for a pitch and swung,' McCann said. 'That's
it'
