Paul Goldschmidt smashed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Jon Gray reeled off a
total of 10 strikeouts as the Inglewood Ignats defeated the Santa Rosa Palms
11 to 2 at the Moon Dome.

Goldschmidt was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he
provided much of the offense for the visitors. He popped a two-run clout
over the fence in the 3rd inning and clubbed a two-run home run in the 6th
inning. Inglewood dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different
innings.

Gray(1-0) got the win allowing 2 runs in 8 innings. The loss was charged to
Luis Castillo(0-2). He served up 4 gopher balls in 5 and 2/3 innings.

Gray was asked about his big strikeout performance, 'Well, it's a little odd
when you rack up these numbers on the road - instead of cheers and a running
tally in the stands, everything gets real still and quiet. Just strange -
but it's nice to be able to take the crowd out of the game.'
