Max Scherzer whiffed 12 batters as the San Jose Kitchen Zinks defeated the
Selma Stompers 6 to 3 at Zink County Stadium.
Scherzer(4-2) pitched a solid game. He was reached for 11 hits and 1 walk in
7 and 1/3 innings. Despite losing, Selma out-hit San Jose KZ 12 to 5.
Lance McCullers earned the save, his 2nd. Pablo Lopez(2-4) was charged with
the loss. 'Everything felt great,' Scherzer said. 'I had a good fastball, I
felt I could throw it by everybody today.'
