Left fielder Hideki Matsui blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI and John Maine
struck out 10 batters as the Fullerton Fatboys crushed the San Jose
Kitchen Zinks 13 to 1.
Matsui made sure the Fullerton fans enjoyed themselves. He doubled which
scored a run in the 4th inning and cracked a two-run shot (his 1st of the
season) in the 6th inning. Fullerton banged out 16 hits on the night.
Maine(1-0) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 1 run. Micah
Owings(0-1) suffered the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 10 hits and
2 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
Maine was jubilant in the hometown clubhouse, 'It was a lot of fun out there.
The fans gave me a lot of support as did my teammates. We got the victory
and I'll sure take 10 strikeouts anytime!'
