Julio Rodriguez homered at Fatboy Stadium where the Fullerton Fatboys beat the
Palo Alto Pinkos by the score of 7 to 6.
In the bottom of the 6th inning Fullerton scored 3 runs with the help of 3
hits. The biggest moment was provided by Casey Schmitt who brought the crowd
to their feet when he singled bringing home two baserunners. Palo Alto had a
chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
Mason Fluharty(1-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 3 innings. Robert Suarez
preserved the game for Fluharty, recording his 2nd save. Hurston
Waldrep(1-1) was given the loss. He allowed Fullerton 6 runs in 5 and 1/3
innings of work.
Rob Stransky was in a talkative mood in the clubhouse. 'Great game! If only
we could win all of the close ones - wouldn't that be nice! Since that's not
going to happen, I think I'll savor this one for a little while.'
