In a good matchup it was the Inglewood Ignats 8, the San Jose Invaders 6 at
the Invaderdome.
Inglewood had 6 runs cross the plate in the top of the 4th inning with the
help of 5 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Ronald Acuna who silenced
the Invaderdome as he depressed the partisan hometown fans with a grand slam
home run. Edwin Diaz relieved and was untouched by San Jose I as he recorded
the save, his 1st.
The victory was credited to Gavin Williams(1-0) who went 5 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 6 runs. George Kirby(1-1) was hit with the loss. He allowed a few
too many baserunners giving up 8 hits and 3 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.
