23,003 fans watched an exciting game at the Invaderdome. The Selma Stompers
topped the San Jose Invaders by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.
Both teams had scored 4 runs after nine full innings. Selma came out the
victor in the 12th inning. After two outs Masyn Winn slapped a base-hit
scoring the run. Selma banged out 7 hits on the afternoon.
The win went to Troy Melton(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Jack Dreyer
got the save, his 1st. Josh Hader(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He was
the victim of a defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.
