Third baseman Caleb Durbin had 3 base hits and 3 RBI as the Fullerton Fatboys
staged a dramatic comeback over the San Jose Invaders by a score of 10 to 9
at Fatboy Stadium.
Fullerton scored the winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 3
runs. Brice Turang led off and he was hit by a pitch. One out later, Austin
Hays got his chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes.
Durbin then was hit by a pitch. Jared Triolo came up and he belted a
three-run homer giving Fullerton the victory as 39,580 happy fans celebrated
wildly. The score went back-and-forth with the lead changing 6 times.
The victory went to Emmet Sheehan(1-2) who went 3 and 2/3 innings, allowing 1
run. Josh Hader(0-2) suffered the loss in relief. He pitched 1 and 2/3
innings allowing 1 hit and no walks.
'What a win!', Sheehan said. 'These are the kind of games that stand out in
your mind at the end of a season.'
