In a thriller the San Jose I Invaders staged a dramatic comeback then held on
to win over the Selma Stompers by a score of 6 to 5 at Selma Coliseum.
San Jose I scored the decisive runs in a big top of the 9th inning plating 2
runs using 4 hits. Ke'Bryan Hayes got things rolling when he ripped a solo
home run. After an out was recorded, Zach Neto came up and he banged out a
single. Wyatt Langford then stroked a one-base hit. Evan Carter was up next
and he stroked a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning. San Jose I
had 14 hits for the game and Selma had 6.
Gerrit Cole(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 2/3 of an inning and
allowing 1 run. Cole got relief help from Chad Green who gained credit for
his 2nd save. The loss was charged to Nick Lodolo(1-3) in relief.
